The Pies that Didn't Make It
When I started PieChef.com, one thing I didn’t consider was the amount of experimentation I would end up doing to develop new recipes.
As with any research project, not every experiment is a success.
At least with pies, the failures are edible (sometimes).
My first attempt at a chocolate cherry pie produced something that my family nicknamed “Pie of Darkness” and “George’s Chocolate Cherry Mess.”
They did, however, eat every bite….
I wanted to make a cranberry pie for the December Pie of the Month, and I thought cranberry custard pie would be good and a bit unusual…
It was, but not the way I imagined!
